Itinerary Details
Day 1 Mto wa Mbu
This is where all of your planning becomes a reality: your safari starts now. Tanzania is such a wonderful country when it comes to wildlife and beautiful landscapes. After we greet you and answer any questions you might have, we’ll take great pleasure in taking you out and showing you what we mean. Mto Wa Mbu is the main gateway town for Lake Manyara National Park, which is just a few kilometers away. It’s a fun place to explore and catch a glimpse of local life, with plenty of activity on its busy streets. It’s also one of Tanzania’s most multicultural towns, with all 120 of the country’s ethnic groups present in town.
Arusha
Get to know Arusha and you’ll understand a little more about local life. It’s a fascinating city.
Lake Manyara National Park
You’re in for something special when you visit Lake Manyara National Park. The park has tree-climbing lions, olive baboons, forest elephants and lots of birds. It’s a beautiful place too, with steep cliffs, dense forest and a bird-filled lake.
Accommodation Africa Safari Lake Manyara (comfort tent)
When you stay at Africa Safari Lake Manyara (comfort tent), you can expect big safari tents with private decks and bright African decor, a restaurant, a swimming pool and lots of acacia trees. The location is also excellent, with Lake Manyara and the Rift Valley escarpment not far away. It’s a lovely place to stay
Day 2 Karatu
Enjoy quiet, little Karatu. Its busy main street is a window on urban life in a small provincial town, but it’s much quieter just a few blocks away from the main road. Shop, go to the bank or simply walk the streets – all are possible here.
Ngorongoro Crater
Whether admiring the view from the crater rim or viewing wildlife down upon the crater floor, you’ll have a safari experience to remember in and around Ngorongoro Crater.
Ngorongoro Highlands
Enjoy cool temperatures, forest wildlife (including elephants, buffaloes and leopards), and fine views of craters and mountains when you visit the Ngorongoro Highlands.
Accommodation Africa Safari Karatu
While in Karatu you’ll be staying at Africa Safari Karatu. It’s a delightful place, looking out over the wonderfully green highlands that border the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The brick-walled rooms have loads of personality with local handicrafts and fine views. There is also a handful of simple safari tents on site, and the restaurant uses seasonal local ingredients. Even the swimming pool has views.
Day 3 Karatu
Reacquaint yourself with Karatu with more time along its busy main street or tranquil back streets.
Tarangire National Park
Baobab trees and elephants will loom large over your visit to Tarangire, but keep an eye out also for lions, wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, baboons, vervet monkeys and zebras.
Day 4 Arusha
It’s time to visit Lake Manyara National Park. This spectacular park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, forest-dwelling elephants and wandering baboons. It’s a beautiful mix of forest, lake and the cliffs of the Rift Valley escarpment.
Accommodation Manyara’s Secret
At Manyara’s Secret you have a privileged position next to the eastern shore of Lake Manyara – no other places in the area have a location anything like it. Whether you’re in one of the many swimming pools (some of which are attached to the private villas) or sipping a cocktail on the public terrace, there’s so much to enjoy here. The designer villas are super-stylish and the food here is first-class.
